Various Symptoms For Various Forms Of Arthritis

Arthritis actually an umbrella term that is used to cover a group of more than 100 medical conditions with the common thread among these 100-plus conditions being that they all affect the musculoskeletal system and specifically the joints. Together, arthritis, and related conditions are one of the most major causes of disability in the world, and unless something gets better, the picture is only going to continue getting worse.

Because there are actually over 100 different types of arthritis, the signs and symptoms of the disease are thus incredibly variable. However, as long as you understand even the basics of the different arthritis symptoms, then you will be more informed in general and will be that much more apt to notice if and when you yourself are suffering from any of these signs or symptoms.

The Most Common Arthritis Symptoms

There are in fact too many different arthritis symptoms to count, especially considering all of the different types of arthritis that are known and the fact that there are countless symptoms for each. However there are certain arthritis symptoms that frequent all the different types and it is these in particular which will be addressed and discussed here.

Persistent joint pain is the most commonly reported symptom of all, and you can experience it anywhere in the body, although you are most likely to notice it in areas where the joints are most frequently used, such as in the knees or elbows, for instance. Pain or tenderness in the joints is also a surefire sign of arthritis, especially if you notice that it is aggravated by movement or activity, such as walking, getting up from a chair, or throwing a ball.

Extreme fatigue is another of the most common arthritis symptoms, as people who suffer from arthritis tended to notice a sudden and usually dramatic increase in their tiredness when they first started experiencing the arthritis. This can also include a lack of energy, weakness, or an overall feeling of malaise.

Treatment of Arthritis

If you experienced any of the previously mentioned symptoms, went to see your doctor and were diagnosed with arthritis, then the next step is treatment. There are again a variety of different forms of treatment to choose from, and the specific type that you will be recommended will depend largely on what particular type of arthritis you are suffering from.

The treatment options vary from mild to very serious, such as surgery, and so you are going to have to work together with your doctor in order for the very best decisions to be able to be determined for you and your particular case.
